Chirps & Cricket is a design studio specializing in bespoke and custom handcrafted paper goods, illustration and graphic design based in Denver, Colorado, founded and owned by Abigail Butler. Chirps & Cricket originally launched in February of 2015 after Abigail left her graphic design job in corporate marketing and advertising.
What began as strictly a freelance graphic design business has since grown into a handmade paper goods design studio, offering an array of items, from personal correspondence note cards to wedding invitations.
Chirps & Cricket is strongly rooted in the blending of graphic design, digital art and fine art. I focus on producing illustrations and graphics by hand, using pen or paintbrush on paper, and then digital means to apply typography, and if it hasn't been added already, color. All stationery products by Chirps & Cricket are designed, printed and handcrafted 'in-house'.
Whether I am working with business owners to design a logo and produce branding, or working with an engaged couple who are in need of wedding stationery, I am passionate about working closely with individuals to communicate their unique vision with sincerity and integrity. I work from concept to final product to craft designs that clients can be excited about, proud of, and confident in using.
Abigail Butler was born and raised in the Midwest (Ohio/Michigan). She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications from The Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago. Shortly after, she moved to Denver and accepted a job as a graphic designer in the marketing and advertising department of an international commercial real estate company. She left the company approximately five years later to pursue the opening of Chirps & Cricket, which spawned from a need to create, grow, and challenge herself artistically. Abigail has over eleven years experience as a graphic designer.
When not in the studio, Abigail can be found riding her bike across town, behind the bar shaking up cocktails, reading books of all kinds, seeing a show at the Ogden, visiting the art museum, hiking, camping or roadtripping with friends, practicing Crow Pose and playing fetch with her cat, Amelia Earhart.
