Hello! I'm Abby, owner and designer here at Chirps & Cricket. I am ardently devoted to art and design and work closely with individuals to communicate their unique vision with sincerity and integrity. Whether I am working with business owners to design a logo and produce branding, or working with an engaged couple who are in need of wedding stationery, I work from concept to final product to craft designs that clients can be excited about, proud of, and confident in using.
Chirps & Cricket Design Studio was born out of a necessity to live a creative life. I am passionate about creating, laughing often, and spreading joy through art and design.

A Little Bit About Me
I’m a mid-west girl, born and raised in Ohio/Michigan – and pretty typical of mid-western folks – always ready with a laugh, always ready to have a good time (yikes! the fomo is real), and always ready and willing to meet new people and make new friends. After living in Colorado for over a decade, I moved back to Ohio and now proudly call downtown Toledo my home. I live with my three cats. Yes! Three is alot of cats! (My youngest was found a couple of block from here that we took in and rescued.) I continue to love the outdoors and enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking and adventuring with friends. Pizza and doughnuts are my favorite foods! Shaking up cocktails is one of my favorite ways to show people a great time. My favorite cocktail, you ask? That’s a tie between a Manhattan and a Last Word. Admittedly, I have an intense fear of diving into dark water. I’ll do it, but it’ll take a shot of whiskey first, or some serious peer pressure 😊 I can be seen riding my bike across town almost on a daily basis (sometimes even if it's not snowing), reading books of all kinds, bobbing my head to hip-hop while I design, practicing Crow Pose, and visiting the Toledo Museum of Art to see the latest exhibit!

A little bit about my education: I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications from The Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago, and shortly after, moved to Denver, Colorado to accept a job as a graphic designer in the marketing and advertising department of an international commercial real estate company. I left the company approximately five years later to pursue the opening of Chirps & Cricket, which spawned from a need to create, grow, and challenge myself artistically. I have over fifteen years of experience as a designer.
A little bit about representation: Representation is incredibly important to me. I believe all Black Lives Matter, LOVE IS LOVE, every body is a good body, no human being is illegal, diversity makes us stronger, and that kindness is everything. My pronouns are she/her.
